I'm a freelance graphic designer based in Northland, New Zealand. Here, with my talented better half, I raise a young, energetic family surrounded by a menagerie of pets and animals on a small block 15 minutes from the city.

 

I enjoy a full-on life of family and adventure with Northland providing so many opportunities to get outdoors and lead a healthy, active lifestyle.

 

Flint Media is my creative outlet, and fortunately serves as means to put food on the table & a roof over our heads. I started my career training as an animator before taking up a pencil for Flux Animation Studio in Auckland where I had the chance to work with a great team of talented artists, animators and storytellers. For a time, this was a dream job, but I soon developed a much broader interest in graphic design that led me to retrain and qualify with a Bachelors’ Degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communication. After graduating, I spent two years learning the ropes with another Auckland-based creative agency before embarking on my own venture and founding Flint Media in 2006.

 

After the birth of our 3rd daughter, we moved north to be closer to extended family and give our kids the opportunity to grow up with space, nature and adventure. I now work from home – or wherever I may be required in the short term – to maintain a work/life balance that fosters sustainable creativity.
